he types of psoriasis medications used for treatment depends on how severe the case of psoriasis is, and how the person has responded to previous medications and treatment. Most of the time, psoriasis medication starts with topical creams, ointments and salves, then moves on to Ultraviolet (UV) light treatment. Sometimes the UV light treatment is combined with topical creams and ointments to enhance their effects too. With severe cases of psoriasis however, and those cases which haven’t responded to other treatments, injection drug medications are used.

Summary: In the face of Asian competition and possible supply shocks to the uranium market, UxC president Jeff Combs urges U.S. utilities to support the expansion of production in the United States. He believes theres a good chance for $50/pound uranium this year. Any shock to supply could send prices much, much higher.

StockInterview: How would you sum up the uranium market right now?

Jeff Combs: Theres a very tight supply/demand situation that exists now for deliveries over the next several years. If you were going out today to buy uranium for 2007, 2008, and 2009, theres not that much available supply. The supply/demand balance is very tight, and I think thats going to be reflected in prices continuing to rise for a while as utilities seek to fill demand for those delivery years. Since most contracting in uranium is done on a term basis, youre always looking out several years. By the time you reach 2009, for example, youre looking to fill needs in 2012 and beyond. By that time, supply might have responded sufficiently, or even over-responded. Of course, whether or not the supply/demand balance is tighter then depends on how nuclear power expansion is progressing at that point and what happens with respect to the HEU deal. But, in the meantime, production will have had more time to react to higher prices, and this could alleviate some of the supply/demand pressures.

StockInterview: How are escalating market-related contracts impacting the uranium price?

Jeff Combs: Its pretty much a sellers market right now. You have escalating floor prices that are maybe not too much lower than the current spot price. If you have ceiling prices, theyll be much higher than the current price, and those will also escalate. In some cases, you dont even have ceiling prices. In rare cases, you dont have either ceiling or floor prices. Most producers are looking to sign market-related contracts and not fix the price even on an escalated basis in the future, although they would want floor protection. To a large extent, the utilities dont have too much choice in the matter except to wait and hope that the competitive landscape changes in the future. However, in many cases they need to procure uranium now and cant afford to wait. Thus, they must accept what is being offered.

StockInterview: Do you continue to see a speculative frenzy in the market?

Jeff Combs: Theres still some speculative activity in the market, but I wouldnt call it so much a frenzy. The importance of this speculative buying has been somewhat over-blown. Total hedge fund/investor volume to date is about 11 million pounds. This buying started towards the end of 2004. The bulk of it was during 2005, and it has continued into this year. It will be much less over the first part of this year versus the first part of 2005; about a half a million pounds so far this year versus 5.5 million pounds through May of 2005. There is probably too much emphasis put on the role of hedge funds or investment funds in the market. If you look at the market, the price especially the long term contract prices has been leading the spot price up. The speculators really arent involved in that part of the market. Over the same time the hedge funds/investor funds were buying, youve probably had a third of a billion pounds transacted under long-term contracts. If you go forward several years from now, you see a very tight supply/demand situation in the market. If you wanted a pure base-escalated contract, the base price for this might be close to $50 today, a good bit higher than the spot price and about a third or so higher than the long-term price at the beginning of the year.

StockInterview: Weve been led to believe the HEU deal with Russia will not be renewed. What is your feeling?

Jeff Combs: You need to consider how much things have changed from when the current HEU deal was signed. At that time, the Russian economy was struggling, as was Russias nuclear power program. Now Russias economy is much more robust, thanks to energy exports. Russia is experiencing a nuclear power renaissance of its own. From this perspective, I think its quite unlikely that the HEU deal will be renewed. When I say that, Im referring to the deal between an agent acting for the Russian Government and an agent acting for the U.S. Government. I dont think that necessarily means that there will not be any HEU blended down after the current deal is over, but that could be done for internal consumption in Russia or be used as supply for countries where Russia is exporting fuel for Russian-supplied reactors.

StockInterview: The trading volume on the spot uranium market has fallen off after what transpired in 2005.

Jeff Combs: The volume now is certainly less than what it was last year. Volume so far for the year is 6.3 million pounds on the spot market. If this rate were maintained, it would put volume close to 20 million pounds for the year. This would make it more of a typical market in terms of volume from the standpoint of recent history before 2005. Whether or not volume is higher than this depends a lot on the extent to which utilities that are out in the long term market, right now, are able to get offers to cover requirements in 2007, 2008, and 2009. If theyre not successful, they might come back into the spot market. That could boost spot buying somewhat later in the year. Also, some producers have been buying on the spot market. If this buying picks up, it could add to volume as well

StockInterview: Do you believe were going to see $50/pound uranium in the near term?

Jeff Combs: Oh yes, I think theres a good chance that well see $50 per pound uranium this year, more likely in terms of long term contracts. I think the highest prices may be reached within the next couple of years. I think thats when supply will be the tightest. In our uranium market report, we develop three price scenarios a base case, a high-price case, and a low-price case. Price spikes or overshoots its long-run equilibrium in all three scenarios. In the high case, which would be the most dramatic spike, I would say it would be somewhere in the $60 – $70 range. Price certainly could be higher than this if the wheels come off the wagon. I think youre definitely looking at price going into the $50s. Its not too difficult to see a scenario where price goes into the $60s. And then it would come down from there.

StockInterview: What goes up must come down?

Jeff Combs: I dont think these higher prices are sustainable in the long term. You also have the situation now where utilities are going out to buy uranium, and theyre not finding what they want over the 2007-2009 period. It might be the case that some of these newer producers, or producers in the process of expanding production, really arent in a position to offer the supplies in those years. Ultimately, they will have the supply to offer in maybe 2009 or 2010. Since theyre not offering it right now, price can be pushed up a fair amount, setting up the possibility for a correction in a few years when more of these supplies become available to the market. In the short term, uranium supply and demand are very inelastic. This sets up the potential for an explosive response in price, as witnessed by the recent behavior in price. I have to admit weve had to adjust our price projections upwards on more than one occasion.

StockInterview: What would be on your checklist of shocks to the market or the wheels coming off the wagon?

Jeff Combs: What weve pointed out for a while is that you have the vast bulk of supply coming from a few major production centers and blended-down HEU. If you have a problem with any one of those, it can have a large impact on the market. Obviously, weve already had problems at Olympic Dam and McArthur River, and now Cigar Lake, even before it gets into production. If you have problems at any of these in the future, or at Rossing or Ranger, its going to impact the market. If you had some problem with the HEU deal between U.S. and Russia, it could have a devastating impact on the market. In the past, these problems have been caused by fire and floods, but other factors such as trade policies or the shortage of equipment could negatively impact supplies going forward.

StockInterview: But then why did the Cigar Lake delay seem to pass by unnoticed?

Jeff Combs: It hasnt seemed to have gotten a lot reaction in the market. I think it depends on how people look at it. Ive heard somebody say, Well, it just means that it just takes 2.5 million pounds of production out of the market because it gets delayed 6 months. Unless Cameco increases the rate at which it ramps up Cigar Lake, then its going to take more than 2.5 million pounds out of the market, because its not going to get to its desired production level until half a year later. Production will be lower in the intervening years, as well. The problem is that this delay in production is coming at a time when supplies are very tight in the market, the 2007-2009 timeframe. I think it could also impact the market by increasing the levels of inventories held because you really dont know when the next flood or next problem is going to occur. Until production expands more, any shock to supply could send prices much, much higher.

StockInterview: What should U.S. utilities do to protect their supply channels in the face of possible market shocks and especially in light of the aggressive Asian appetite for uranium?

Jeff Combs: Thats a good question. I think that U.S. utilities should support the expansion of production in the United States, in addition to maintaining their supply channels to major uranium producing countries, or perhaps developing them in the case of Kazakhstan. I think its more of a case that U.S. utilities should look at what all their options are, try to stimulate additional supply options, and in the process promote domestic production. Right now the market is fairly concentrated. There are not a lot of suppliers. While foreign utilities havent been, to date, looking at the U.S. as a supply source, they also have a desire to promote supply diversity, and could look to the U.S. for supply in the future.

StockInterview: To be blunt, are U.S. utilities going to get caught with their pants down, at some point during this decade?

Jeff Combs: If you had some kind of supply interruption or shock as we were talking about before, certainly that would create problems, not just for U.S. utilities, but for any utilities that were uncovered or have contract payment terms that relate to the market price with no real ceiling price protection. If you have really aggressive nuclear expansion in China, if India is allowed to play in the market, and if Russia goes ahead with its reactor expansion program, this makes the chances of price getting out of control somewhat greater down the road. Weve been warning of these issues for a while. I clearly dont think were out of the woods yet. When I say that were not out of the woods yet, I still believe that some utilities may be putting too much faith in current prices in that they believe that the now higher prices will take care of the problem of future supplies. While higher prices will certainly stimulate more production, I think that you must ask the question whether these prices are the antidote for the supply problem, or whether they are more a symptom of a severe deficit of supply that the market is facing. The answer to this probably determines how proactive utilities will be in securing future supplies. We wrote an editorial in 2003 that I think pretty well captured the state of the market at that time and the market environment we have seen since.

A corset is an item of clothing worn to help shape the upper boby into a desired shape for aesthetic, or sometimes orthopaedic, reaons (either while wearing it, or for more permanent results). Men and women have both worn and still wear corsets.

The craft of making corsets is known as corsetry, as is the general wearing of them. A person who designs and makes corsets is a corsetier (for a man) or corsetire (for a woman), or simply a corsetmaker.

The most popular use of corsets is to shap the body into a beautiful, fashionable silhouette shape. For women this usually emphasises a curvy figure, by reducing the waist, and thereby exaggerating the bust and hips. However corsets have also been worn to achieve a more tubular shape although this is less common.

For men, corsets are more customarily used to slim the figure. However, there was a period from around 1820 to 1835 when an hourglass figure was also desirable for men; this was sometimes achieved by wearing a corset.

Corsets are constructed of flexible materials such as satin, leather, pvc, denim, and velvet. They are stiffened with boning (also called ribs or stays) inserted into channels in the material. Steel and whalebone were favored in the Victorian period but plastic is now the most commonly used material. Steel is used for high-quality corsets. Other materials that have been used for boning include ivory, wood, and cane. (A girdle is usually made of elasticised fabric, not boning.)

A corset encloses the upper body, usually from under the arms to the hips. Some corsets however extend over the hips and may even reach the knees. A shorter kind of corset, which covers the waist area (from below the ribs to just above the hips), is called a ‘waist cincher’ or underbust corset. A corset may also include garters to hold up stockings.

Corsets are held together by lacing, usually at the back. Tightening or loosening the lacing changes the firmness of the corset. It is possible for a back-laced corset-wearer to do his or her own lacing, though it can be difficult. However, many corsets also have a buttoned or hooked front opening. Once the lacing is adjusted comfortably, it is possible to leave the lacing as adjusted and take the corset on and off using the front opening. This method is incompatible with tightlacing, which strives for the maximum reduction of the waist. Tightlacers are usually laced by spouses and partners.

In the past, a woman’s corset was usually worn over a garment called a chemise or shift, a sleeveless low-necked gown made of washable material (usually cotton or linen). These absorbed perspiration and kept the corset clean. Now an undershirt or corset liner is usually worn.

There are now even more reasons for chocolate lovers to rejoice! As more amazing research news comes in about chocolate, the substance is moving from a bad-for-you candy to an important health food. Those of us who had always continued to indulge in occasional chocolate treats can stop feeling guilty and now easily justify our cravings.

You may have already heard that chocolate contains beneficial flavonoids and antioxidents. Flavonoids are naturally-occurring compounds found in plant foods that are full of recognized health benefits. There are more than 4,000 flavonoid compounds, which are a subgroup of a large class called polyphenols. Phenols are believed to help reduce the risk of heart disease by helping prevent atherosclerosis. The flavanols in chocolate appear to help the body use nitric oxide, which is crucial for healthy blood flow and blood pressure, which means that chocolate might help reduce hypertension as well.

Red wine is know for its high phenol content, but an average bar of dark chocolate contains more phenols than 8 ounces of red wine. Scientists at Cornell University and Seoul National University examined the cancer-fighting antioxidant content of hot cocoa, red wine, and tea, and found that cocoa had nearly double the antioxidants of red wine and four to five times more than tea.

Holland’s National Institute of Public Health and Environment found that dark chocolate contains 53.5 mg of catechins per 100 grams. (Catechins are the powerful antioxidants that fight against cancer and help prevent heart disease). By contrast, a cup of black tea contains only about 14 mg of catechins and green tea has about 30 mg of catechins.

A study at University of California Davis found that participants who ate chocolate showed a reduction in platelet activity. This means that chocolate has an anti-clotting, blood-thinning effect that can be compared to aspirin.

A Harvard University study of 8,000, with an average age of 65, revealed that those who consumed chocolate lived almost a year longer than those who did not. Those who ate one to three candy bars per month had a 36 percent lower risk of death (compared to the people who ate no candy), while those who ate three or more candy bars per week had a 16 percent lower risk.

A study of older men in The Netherlands, known for its chocolate, showed that those who ate the most chocolate, an equivalent of one-third of a chocolate bar every day, had lower blood pressure and a 50 percent lower risk of death. The researchers also noted the men eating the most cocoa products were not heavier or bigger eaters than the men who ate less cocoa.

And it’s not just dark chocolate that is the only healthy type of chocolate. Most studies talk about the benefits of dark chocolate, but some of the most recent news about chocolate includes good news for milk chocolate lovers, who have been left out in the past.

The Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia did a study that shows that milk chocolate seems to boost brainpower. The groups in the test consumed, on different occasions, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, carob and nothing. Then they were tested for cognitive performance including memory, attention span, reaction time, and problem solving.

According to Dr. Bryan Raudenbush, “Composite scores for verbal and visual memory were significantly higher for milk chocolate than the other conditions.” The study also found that consumption of milk and dark chocolate was associated with improved impulse control and reaction time. It seems that by consuming chocolate you get stimulating effects from substances found in chocolate, such as theobromine and phenylethylamine, which then lead to increased mental performance.

Chocolate really does make you feel good, too. It is known to stimulate the secretion of endorphins, producing a pleasurable sensation similar to the “runner’s high” a jogger feels after running several miles. Chocolate also contains a neurotransmitter, serotonin that acts as an anti-depressant. Studies in England show that even the aroma of chocolate gives a bout of euphoria and will help lift the spirits.

And now people are looking at chocolate for skin care. According to Marlies Spinale, director of Tru Spa, “Like many other antioxidants, cocoa polyphenols are thought to offer the skin protection from free-radical damage caused by sun, pollution, stress, alcohol consumption and other factors. I believe that we will hear more about the benefits of chocolate in skin care.”

Some people have been avoiding chocolate because one of the main ingredients of chocolate is cocoa butter. It was thought that it was an unhealthy fat, but actually cocoa butter is not unhealthy. It is made up of the beneficial fatty acids– oleic acid (a heart-healthy monounsaturated fat also found in olive oil), stearic and palmitic acids. Stearic and palmitic acids are healthy forms of saturated fat. Plus chocolate contains vitamins A, B1, C, D, and E, as well as potassium, sodium, and iron.

So go ahead and indulge in a little chocolate, in moderation of course. I would recommend that you try to find organic chocolate, and stick with darker chocolate because it has more chocolate flavonoids and less sugar. (Sugar weakens the immune system; so don’t consume sugar if you are ill.) And a little bit of milk chocolate is alright when you need an occasional milk chocolate brainpower boost, such as before a test. All you students take note!

Arnie and Constantin Negreanu immigrated from Romania to Toronto, Ontario, Canada with their two sons in 1967. In July of 1974, Constantin gave birth to Daniel, the couples third son.

Daniel Negreanu was a free spirit who was attracted to the lure of gambling from an early age. Dropping out of high school only one credit short of graduation, he pursued his calling with a dedication never shown in the classroom.

He played anywhere he could find a game of Poker, legal or illegal. Pursuing his life as a rounder (a full time Poker player), he naturally gravitated to Las Vegas. Daniel arrived in this gambling mecca in 1995, anxious to realize his goal of becoming a major player.

His bankroll (and his luck) did not sustain him very long and realizing he had not yet reached a skill level equal to the better professional players, returned to Toronto.

Daniels devotion to Poker and dedication to learning its strategies and finer points soon paid off. In 1997, he competed in the World Poker Finals at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut and won two events.

Kid Poker as he was soon to be known was named the Tournaments best all around player and he won himself a tidy sum of $133,600 as well.

Having proven himself a major league competitor, the now skilled and confident Kid Poker emerged a $169,460 winner in the 1998 World Series of Poker at the $2,000 Pot Limit Holdem Event simultaneously becoming the youngest WSOP Bracelet winner in Tournament history, a record he held until 2004.

Daniel has since continued his triumphs and has become one of the most successful Tournament players thus far. He has won the World Poker Tour twice, winning two more World Series Bracelets and has made the final table no less than eleven times.

In December 2005, Daniel started an online poker room on his official website.

His particular forte is his alertness to other players tells (expressions, betting patterns, etc.). He studies his opponents with the same concentration paid to his own game meaning he is always careful not to expose any tells of his own to other players.

Daniels success has prompted him to write a book Daniel Negreanus Power Holdem Strategy which he feels will be the definitive text on the game.

Since 1997, Daniel Negreanu has finished in the money no less than 25 times in Tournament competition. In 2005 and as of this writing in 2006, he has participated in the following Tournaments:

- 2005 6th Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open $10,000 No limit Holdem 3rd place out of 512 players won $384,322

- 2005 L.A. Poker Classic – $2,778 No Limit Holdem 3rd place out of 180 players won $60,000

- 2006 Jack Binion WSOP Tournament $10,000 No Limit Holdem 1st place out of 241 players won $755,525

- 2006 National Heads-Up Poker Championship placed quarter finals won $75,000

“Body – I know composition, but the pictures are always terrible. Even the old film stuff that my parents used in my younger days came out much better. You would think that in the 21st century, with all the electronics and gizmos, I would be able to take a good, sharp picture. The answer is, I can. There are plenty of digital SLR (Single Lens Reflex) cameras out there from Canon & Nikon and others. The image quality of photographs produced from these beautiful beasts is almost like those of Ansel Adams’.

There are several types of paintball equipment used while playing a game of paintball. Many of them serve important functions like providing safety, while some of them may be intended for cosmetic purposes only. There are also some nifty paintball accessories which can really come in handy when playing the game.

Paintball Gun:

Paintball guns are replicas of actual firearms used to mark an opposing player with paint in the popular game of paintball. These guns propel paintballs through a barrel with a muzzle velocity of approximately 300 ft/s to break upon impact. Different types of paintball guns have different firing system such as Electro-pneumatic, mechanical, or gas-powered firing systems. Some of the more popular paintball guns include semi-automatic, stock class and pump guns.

Safety Equipment:

Paintball Mask:

Paintball Masks protect the face by covering the eyes, mouths, ears and nostrils. Some masks are also equipped with throat guards. Lenses which come in double-layered or thermal designs are more reliable and the air chamber between the outer and inner lens prevent fogging. High end mask products should be considered while playing paintball because most of them are designed to effectively halt speeding paintballs which normally travel at a speed of 200 to 300 ft/s. Polycarbonate or Lexan provides good impact resistance so be sure to check if the mask has lens made with those.

Barrel cover:

A barrel plug is normally a neoprene pouch attached over the barrel opening by a cord. This safety device prevents accidentally fired paintballs to cause any harm by blocking exit. A barrel sock is more effective in reducing the possibility of the safety equipment being detached from the marker/gun barrel.

Cleaning Equipment:

Squeegees:

The barrel or breach of the paintball gun may collect dust or paintball debris. Squeegees, hinge-mounted rubber discs on the end of plastic rods, are used to clean these out by inserting the rubber end into the barrel. Cable squeegees, in which the rubber disc is mounted perpendicularly on the end of the cable, used to clean open breech and removable bolt paintball guns.

Battle Swab:

This is a double ended stick, with a bendable rubber section in the middle, which has a soft absorbent fur which is shoved down the length of the barrel to remove paint debris or paintball shell.

Common Accessories:

Drop forward and Rail:

Drop forwards, which is attached to the bottom of the gun, drop the tank a few inches and move it forward. This makes the paintball marker/gun taller but shorter in length. Safety features may include on/off switch. Another alternative to drop forward, which has become more popular, is the rail system which enables a tank regulator to be mounted directly at the base of the grip.

Remote line:

Remote lines are cables attached to the tank from the paintball marker/gun so that user can easily move while handling the marker/gun.

Pod:

These are plastic containers that can hold about 140 to 200 paintballs. Pods may be equipped with springs at the top for quick opening, locking mechanism to prevent accidental opening, and shock absorbers to prevent paintballs from breaking.

Harness:

A harness, which holds the pods, provides the player with a convenient supply of paint. They may also be fitted with a pouch to hold the tank during a remote setup, a bellyband with hoops in the back for the pods and pockets for maps, radios, and hydration pouches.

To be successful in keeping to an exercise program, you going to have to define results. Results for most mean weight on a scale, a dress size, the number of pounds on a bench press, and your waist size. I challenge you to think in abstracts. Results, all the time? Yes! It just may not come in the form you are looking for on the surface. You can break the type of results into three categories: emotional, internal and external.

EMOTIONAL

I believe more important than waistline measurements, personal bench press records or reading whatever the scale says, is what exercise does for you emotionally. For me, it was self-confidence and self- esteem. I will do this for life because I do not want to go back to the person I once was. For you, it may be a feeling of being productive. Or because you are doing something for you and no one else.

INTERNAL

Internal results come in the form of vital signs, such as lower blood pressure, and a decrease in body fats, cholesterols and triglycerides. Of course, these are important, but do not look just at the typical attributes.

EXTERNAL

These are results you are accustomed to achieving. It is something we can see or touch. Pants are fitting loser, arms are looking toned, and numbers on the scales are going down. At times it is a lot easier to get motivated by those things we can see, rather than all that is going on inside. Personally, I have seen more people stick with a program if they focus on the emotional and internal results, more than the external. The outside results may motivate you in the beginning, but it is the INSIDE OUT approach that keeps you going.

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is a very common problem affecting your hands and wrists. Many believe that computers are a major cause for such kind of a problem. But Before this problem was already in existence due to the kind of work we used to do. Computers do add to the risk of the syndrome but, is not termed as a main culprit. There are other reasons for suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome such like knitting, wood carving, minute work or detailed work, excessive use of vibrating machines and driving for a long time.

Carpal tunnel lies in the wrist and the very important nerve called the median nerve is also present there. This nerve helps in controlling some of the muscles which help in movement of the thumb. Problem occurs when too much pressure is applied on the median nerve. This pressure leads to the swelling of the tendons which squeezes the carpal tunnel leading to carpal tunnel syndrome.

Anyone can be affected by this syndrome. Age is not a barrier. It is being noted that women are affected more by this syndrome, in comparison to men. The worst affected areas are the thumb, middle finger and index finger. You can experience continuous pain, tingling sensation or numbness. The pain can be very severe as it might wake you up in the middle of the night. Do not ignore the symptoms as it may be one of the most serious things which could always cause problems to your hands, arms, shoulders and wrists.
Reasons for Carpel Tunnel Syndrome

-Rheumatoid Arthritis
-Pregnancy
-Osteoarthritis
-Diabetes
-Amyloidosis
-Hypothyroidism
-Tumors and similar conditions
-Fluid retention
-Swelling or inflammation of the tendons

Some of the things which you can do to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome

-Regular exercise for your wrists and hand
-Avoiding too much stress on your hands and wrists
-Follow a proper posture while sitting on your computer
-Usage of acupuncture or osteopathy
-Get your arms, wrists massaged
-Avoid pressures on your wrists. Use your elbows and shoulders instead
-Take short breaks during work
-Warm up before you start your work
-Avoid sleeping on your hands
-If you are a regular user of the computer you can set your keyboard in a flat position rather than a slanting position
-Do not rest your wrists on the keyboard
-Try using a mouse pad and avoid resting it on the desk
-Type softly
-Sleep in an upright position to avoid pressure on your nerves
-Don’t tie the hand bandage very tightly

Some simple remedies for Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
-You can apply ice pack for relieve
-Usage of acupuncture or osteopathy
-Get your arms, wrists massaged

Ah summer time in Galway, breathe it in, get a breath of that country air, breathe the beauty of it everywhere, get a look at that clear blue sky. Summer days spent lying on the grass down at Spanish Arch, not a care in the world

There are plenty of attractions to catch the eye in Ireland during the summer. June, July and August sees a host of music festivals including electric picnic, oxygen and the midlands music festival but its out west in Galway where the best Irish summer festivals are happening.

Things seem to go a bit quite towards the end of may and early June with many of the students leaving the city but its not long before the town is buzzing again with the prospect of a fun filled summer

The Galway arts festival kicks off on the 17th of July. The festival offers the best in music, theatre and dance, visual art and comedy. Street theatre also plays a major part in the festival providing wonderful entertainment for the summer shoppers. The organizers have gone all out this year bringing in some of the finest national and international acts including such homegrown talent as Bell X1 and David Kitt and major stars such as Lambchop and David Gray.

The biggest festival in Galway has to be the Galway races. The Races become more popular every year with record-breaking crowds thronging the city. There is hardly an empty bed or empty bar for that matter to be found in the city. The festival attracts punters from every walk of life. There are big time gamblers willing to risk the shirt of their back as well as the more casual gambler who is likely to stick a pin in the form guide and risk a euro or two on the result.

For those who just cant get enough gambling there is the option of a trip to Salthill to try your luck in the casinos. One armed bandits or slot machines as some people call them are only too willing to take your money .The Galway Race festival lasts for 7 day and runs from July 31st to August 6th.

The oyster festival, one for the food connoisseurs among you takes place in September. This event has proved hugely popular over the years bringing many new faces and strange accents to the city. The pride of the Galway oyster festival is the Native oysters called Ostrea Edulis. Im told the oysters go down particularly well with a few pints of Guinness. Not being an oyster eater myself I will have to take their word for it.

Another treat for the artistically minded community in Galway is the film fleadh. This event gives local filmmakers a wonderful opportunity to showcase their talents. The festival also attracts many international filmmakers as well as their famous leading men and women. In the past such luminaries as Jim Sheridan, Woody Harrelson, Sir Richard Attenborough and Michael Moore have attended the festival

So Galway for the summer then? Have I convinced you? Go on you know you want to:-)

My husband was 241 lbs. and had a triple bypass six years ago. Today he weighs 178 lbs. and his cholesterol is 108. I never lied to him about his food; I just neglected to mention that I did things like replacing the ground beef in his chili with veggie protein crumbles (from the frozen food case) and the shredded cheddar was veggie cheese from the supermarket produce department. Believe it or not the shredded veggie cheddar tastes and melts so much better than the regular no-fat cheddar. He loves it! I finally had to tell him why he was losing so much weight. He was beginning to think there was something terribly wrong with him.

I bought a cook book with lots of creamy comfort foods that he always craved. None had the heavy cream, butter and cheese that comfort food usually has. I learned how to substitute fat-free half & half or evaporated skim milk for cream. I used margarine with no trans-fat and after a while, I didnt need a special cookbook. It was easy to convert any recipe to low fat, low calorie, low anything.

Heres a good example of a recipe conversion: Original recipe was made with veal not chicken. I used healthy olive oil and margarine, reduced both to 1 teaspoons. The half-and-half was replaced with the fat free kind.

Chicken in a Creamy Mustard Sauce:

2 chicken breasts (boned & skinned)
1 tablespoon flour
teaspoon each salt & pepper
1 teaspoons each olive oil & margarine
cup each diced onion & sliced mushrooms
cup fat-free half-and-half or evaporated skim milk
1 tablespoon each Dijon & fresh parsley
1 teaspoons lemon juice

Dredge chicken in flour, salt, & pepper. In a non-stick skillet heat oil over medium heat, add chicken and cook, turning once, until browned on both sides and cooked throughout (about 2 minutes per side). Remove chicken.
In same skillet heat margarine until bubbly; add onions & mushrooms. Saut until lightly browned. Reduce heat, add half-and-half, mustard, parsley and lemon. Stir constantly until sauce comes to a boil and thickens. Serve over the chicken.

Learn this method of good eating; forget the fad diets and the pills. Stop killing your husband and the kids with what you think is kindness cooking. Serve more vegetables and salad. Get healthy and then look in the mirror and be proud of your accomplishment!

Tempurpedic foam mattress are viscoelastic. That means the mattress was designed in such a way as to conform to the contours of your body. Compared with many other mattress which are usually too rigid and resist the contours of your body. Some mattresses on the other hand are too soft and dont offer support to your body when you are sleeping.

Tempurpedic foam mattress also has the ability to return to its original shape and can provide better comfort and orthopedic support. In fact, tempurpedic was first invented by NASA intended to protect its astronauts during space flight. It was intended to ease the pressure off extreme G forces on astronauts during lift off although it never quite worked out.

Nevertheless, it was soon adapted for commercial purposes. Tempurpedic foam mattresses have many benefits. One of which is the ability to retain motion. It simply means when your wife or husband moves during the night, you will not be affected by his/her movements. This is due to the tempurpedics foam density which is denser than most other mattresses.

Another benefit as I mentioned earlier is its orthopedic properties. Ordinary mattresses cannot conform according to our body easily therefore pressure points can build up over the night. Using a tempurpedic foam mattress, it can conform to your body shape thus relieving of the pressure points. It can also evenly adjust your weight giving you greater comfort during sleep.

Visco elastic memory foam materials are denser therefore they can disperses accumulated pressure points away from the vertebrae. Tempurpedic foam mattresses are used in some hospitals to serve as an orthopedic bed, helping patients suffering from arthritis. It can help to relieve joint pains as well.

So where can you get a tempuredic foam mattress? One place to look for is Overstock.com which sometimes offers huge discounts on tempurpedic foam mattress. They offer a wide variety of other memory foam mattresses, pillows, mattress toppers as well.

You do need to be aware of people selling fake tempurpedic foam mattresses especially on ebay. Often these sellers will claim it is from tempur-pedic where in actual fact, it is not. For peace of mind, I do not encourage people to buy it off ebay. You can instead visit tempur-pedic website for a list of authorised dealers in your area.

The prices of tempurpedic foam mattresses have reduced quite significantly over the years so nowadays it is worth it to buy. After all, you are going to spend one-third of your lives sleeping, why not get a good mattress?

Many students find math a challenging subject, and hiring math tutors can provide a great solution for trouble in the classroom. Difficulty with math is a widespread problem, particularly with the strong emphasis on testing for students in all grades. High stakes tests can create anxiety, especially for math students, and many students need outside help in order to gain confidence and adequately absorb the material. Tutors can access learning problems and devise a personalized instructional program.

Math tutors offer an opportunity for students to receive individualized instruction. Every student has different needs and no two pupils have the same learning style, but a large classroom setting can’t always accommodate the individual student. Some otherwise strong students may need a tutor to get them over a difficult hump or to help them with a specific area, whereas other students can require on-going assistance with their math studies.

It is important to choose the right math tutors. Like a personal trainer, the tutor needs to be matched to the individual. The idea is to increase the student’s confidence, reduce math anxiety and shore up skills. It is important to find a supportive tutor who can adjust his or her teaching style to the student.

Math tutors can be located by asking for personal recommendations from other families that have utilized tutors. The student’s school may also have a list of tutors that they recommend. Local colleges often have job boards and lists of available tutors. Often, a graduate student or college math major may be the perfect choice for a high school age student. Retired teachers or teachers working part time while raising children may offer tutoring. There are also local and national tutoring firms that will match your student with a staff tutor.

It is important that the math tutor has professional training and expertise in the specific subject matter and grade level that the student needs to master. The math tutor’s job is to teach key concepts and problem solving strategies. For young children simply helping with homework may be adequate, but in most cases you are looking for a tutor that can help the student approach problems in a new way so that they can master concepts they have been struggling with in the classroom. The tutor needs to construct a learning plan and adjust it as needed until the student can demonstrate mastery.

Math tutors need to help students with test taking, study skills and self-confidence. The tutor will provide a structure so the student gets the practice that math requires and develops a productive work routine. The tutor needs to bring math alive and make the experience as much fun as possible. Tutoring time should be viewed as positive and supportive. The tutor needs to be a good communicator that makes sure the student feels comfortable asking questions. The tutor needs to provide a balance between offering achievable goals that build confidence and challenging the student to take on increasing difficult material.

2005 Overview:

The Milwaukee Brewers put together an impressive 2005 season posting a .500 record (81-81). Led by outfielders Carlos Lee (.265 32 114) and Geoff Jenkins (.292 25 86) the Brewers 2005 offense also received help from 1st baseman Lyle Overbay (.276 19 72) and Brady Clark (.306 13 53). Rickie Weeks (.239 13 42) and Bill Hall (.291 17 62) split time at second base while pitcher Chris Capuano (18 12 3.99) surprised many by posting 18 wins and pitching over 200 innings (219) for the first time in his young major leaguer career. Helping Capuano in the rotation were Ben Sheets (10 9 3.33) and Tomo Ohka (7 6 4.35) who was acquired midseason from the Washington Nationals. Newcomer closer Derrick Turnbow (7 1 1.74 39 saves) did very well posting a microscopic 0.90 ERA after the all star break.

Off Season Moves:

GM Doug Melvin continued to carefully build his team of youngsters for 2006. First on his list was trading first baseman Lyle Overbay in order to make room for newcomer Prince Fielder (.288 2 10). The organization is high on Fielders potential. The team also picked up starter Dave Bush (5-11 4.49), outfielder Gabe Gross (.250 1 7) and pitcher Zach Jackson, who was a former first round pick from the Blue Jays.

The Brewers also traded to get third baseman Corey Koskie (.249 11 36) in exchange for right hander Brian Wolfe. Melvin also sent pitcher Wes Obermueller to Atlanta to get back the Brewers’ former closer, Dan Kolb (3-8 5.93).

2006 Analysis:

The Brewers GM Doug Melvin continues to impress as he has assembled a team of young, aggressive players. Prince Fielder is expected to join Lee and Jenkins to form one of the more formidable lineups in the NL. The Brewers think so highly of Fielder they moved Overbay to make room for his immediate ascension.

The team hopes Bush will be a good pickup. The pitcher turned around a poor 0-5 start with the Blue Jays and did struggle in September as well, but the Brewers are hopeful a change in scenery will help him. The team’s starters ranked sixth in the NL with a 4.02 ERA last year and the staff should be improved. Expect Koskie to do well in his new uniform. His RBI totals in particular should increase with more consistent playing time.

The pitcher to watch will be Capuano. His 18 wins and 35 game starts really anchored the rotation in 2005. The Brewers are hoping he will become a legitimate ace to build their rotation around. The bullpen other then Turnbow is somewhat questionable. Kolb is familiar face and will help setup the closer but other then that there isnt much here to depend on. Turnbow posted a 3-0 record after the all star break and emerged as one of the more reliable closers in baseball. The Brewers are counting on him picking up where he left off in 2005. Brewer fans remain hopeful in 2006 as management continues to build a quality team.

Music has always attracted people since generations. If you are one who loves music, you may wish to create a music album or video of your own. Creating a music album needs some DVDs or CDs, video capturing software, video editing software, good imagination, time and patience.

Useful tips:

1. You should use music or video from a CD or DVD you have purchased and not you have downloaded.

2. Always pick a song that matches with your prospective video clips. Action clips wont go right with romantic songs.

3. Never put entire episode to music instead choose best parts of the episode and combine them together such that one flow to the other. You can also imagine TV previews as shown on the television.

4. Creativity counts a lot in making a good music video.

Steps to make the video:

1. The first and most important thing is to plan the video you wish to make. If you plan well everything will go right and you will get some good results. You should pick any song that you like and at the same time the song should have an anime feel. Its not necessary that you choose pop or rock but anything that could be really rocking.

2. Video that you are going to make should have music matching to it. Most of the rock times have a mix of mild verse and explosive chorus. After you have selected the tune, you should decide that which of the video clips will go right with music tune.

3. Next you need to pick your video which is going to be very time consuming. You can import selected MPEG or AVI format into the CDs you have purchased. Many software programs are also available that could help you in doing so or you can use a video capture card to get same results. After importing all the clips, you should slice them appropriately.

4. Use editing programs such as Adobe Premier and Pinnacle to slice the song lyrics. These editing programs will import the music along with the video so that you can preview your work.

5. Lastly you need to burn your work into a CD to save it for future.

What does one need to do to get the perfect close-up of a wild flower? Set up a tripod, clip on camera, then snap, snap it’s in the bag, camera, chip.. whatever? Maybe… but consider a few unexpected impediments first. Finding the perfect clump of subjects (mostly the easy part), stopping suddenly or rather screeching to a halt (sometimes interesting along a busy highway)…parking and gathering up the necessary gear (easy) – then my least favourite part, lugging everything over hill and dale. Tripod, camera bag with several lenses which never seem to get any lighter and then fun, fun, fun…It seems, seemed a short distance across three fences to where the wild, gorgeous yellow number (nothing exotic – a simple daisy but a beauty!), nods in the gentle breeze..but…

Have you ever tried to climb over a fence with tripod in hand and weighty camera bag over shoulder? “Just pass them through the fence and follow”, you say! In theory perfect but as is often the case when I’m out ready to shoot I have tripod ready, camera clipped in, slung over right shoulder legs extended, spread ready to go (the fact that I look like a giraffe with ungainly neck protrusions goes unnoticed) and my camera bag is old, slightly smelly and large!. So, how do I climb through the first fence, let alone the second or third in pursuit of the perfect daisy without a lot of folding of legs pushing and shoving, and unclipping of my precious digital genius first? Simple answer – I don’t, I try to get through regardless. Result? The air rapidly turns blue around my head and expletives neither original nor inventive start erupting unbidden from my person. And then the final indignity as at least one part of my favourite jumper gets snagged by an ever vigilant barb! My alternative solutions: throw the gear over and hope for the best, find a gate (how many miles to the nearest?), or simply leave it all in the SUV…barring the digital genius and one’s favourite 1:1 lens of course!

My final decision? Leave tripod and bag in the SUV, take the necessary, and hope that the ravages of the previous night haven’t wrought havoc with traditionally rock steady hands. So then leaping like a gazelle over fences one, two and three, I stride toward the perfect clump of yellow. It’s late in the season, so all the white daisies are pretty much done – rich, golden yellow it is.

Selecting the perfect specimen is next. I need to decide what I’m trying to say in the pic. Perfection with clarity – nature’s form, sublime in its attention to detail or organic soft colour merging into more colour with shadowy bits – a bit of both perhaps. The magic of digital, the freedom of digital – the ability to try everything because one can! I love it. It’s a revelation, a deepening of the creative urge to explore new realms without cost… or end sometimes.

Sure, one can always argue that it leads to lack of direction, lack of planning but one can also argue in return that it extends one’s vision, increases one’s output and ability to see the world from different perspectives. I relish the challenge!

Back to the world of yellow! Perfection… mmmm. Unable to settle on which of the perfect choices is THE perfect choice I decide to shoot anyway, putting pen to paper or rather index finger to shutter button in order to get the creative juices flowing. As always seems to happen, I relax into it and my mind opens up to the possibilities: depth of field, front edge of a petal in focus back edge out and vice versa but mostly my mind is consumed by warm yellow. Kneeling on the ground head down intensely focused – the butt in the air angle would not be an attractive sight for any passing observer but I don’t need to worry about such considerations as this mild obsession most often leads to splendid isolation.

A bit of advice – bracket everything (1 either side in stops or thirds if you have the choice), shoot at the highest resolution you can achieve with whichever model of digital genius you possess and take at least half a dozen shots per chosen angle. Give yourself the best chance of capturing the one you really wanted – the perfect image, beautiful enough to grace your wall, a wall anywhere. One feels such an idiot when one has to declare it didn’t quite happen because of trigger finger meanness! Digital genius is defined by trigger finger generosity or put another way – repetition is the basis of professionalism. Whatever it takes I say. Get the shot! The satisfaction is immense.

More advice – check the first few images carefully on the preview screen just to make sure everything is working as it should. Don’t end up taking twenty splendid black and white shots of a gorgeous yellow daisy – do the greyscale thing in Photoshop! Slow down, check the first few brackets. Check that the ISO is set to 100 not to 1600 from last night’s fun and that all the exposure compensation overrides are back to normal (or leave the settings at 1600 over by two if weird and whacky is what you’re after). Little things but in my twenty years as a photographer these little things become mortifyingly large things if ignored!

So perfection captured, 0 and 1′s secured in the land of Flash wizardry it’s back across the three fences leaping not quite so enthusiastically now, the gazelle’s knees are a little creaky from kneeling on the damp ground – back to the ever patient, ever reliable SUV. Gear stowed, key in the ignition, we’re off …A glow of anticipation washes over me!

But never forget the first things to do on your return? Download and backup! Forget at your peril. DOWNLOAD AND BACKUP just in case you didn’t get it the first time.

The first two steps in getting certified in scuba diving is to make sure that you are a reasonably proficient swimmer and you get medical clearance from your doctor to take up the sport. As for the swimming, you dont have to master every type of stroke. Scuba certification only requires that you are able to swim about 200 yards using any stroke you want and to be able to float or tread on water for about 10 minutes. If you are in good general health and are comfortable in the water, then you should be able to scuba dive without any problems.

There are about 1,900 professional scuba dive centers in North America alone and your local ones should definitely be checked out. Most will run basic certification programs on a regular basis. These centers or shops should be listed in the yellow pages and you can also check with websites of some of the major scuba diving certification agencies such as PADI or NAUI as they will also have listings. Sometimes scuba diving courses are offered at universities too.

Make sure that the course you are interested in taking as well as its instructor are certified with one of the major scuba diving training agencies. This will ensure that you get proper, safe training for both the technical background knowledge and practical skills required for certification as a scuba diver. You also want to end up with an internationally recognized certification card if you want to go scuba diving at various locations around the world.

Some vacation resorts offer resort courses lasting a day or two which offer beginners some very basic training in order to try out scuba diving. These are not certification programs. Full certification programs involve classroom work, exams, practical skills sessions at a pool and usually about four open water dives in the sea (lake or ocean). The duration of the classroom work and pool sessions vary from a very intensive weekend (with advance reading) to once a week over several weeks. The open water dives will usually take two more days. Dive centers located in the tropics also offer basic certification programs that last several days to a week. Although the intensive weekend programs are quite feasible, many feel that basic scuba diving courses spread out over a few weeks will help beginners learn the skills better. Scuba diving does involve new skills and to learn them all during one full weekend may be too much for some people.

As for which scuba diving certification training agency is the best, there isnt any one recognized organization that is better than another. PADI is the most popular in the world but not necessarily better than NAUI or SSI. NAUI course are often more technical in the classroom than those offered by PADI but both will adequately train you to be a scuba diver. The more important factor would be the individual instructor and your own effort during training/studying. In fact, many scuba diving instructors have certifications from several training agencies.

For people living in the more northern regions, there are a few possible routes to take in order to obtain certification. One can travel down south to the tropics and do the entire basic certification course down there in warm weather. However, this will take up a good portion of a vacation since reading, classroom, pool sessions and open water dives all must be done during that time period. A second option is to take the entire course including the open water dives back in home territory. This usually offers beginners the most time since courses can be spread out over a few weeks. However, the water up north is not as warm as in the tropics and the scuba diving could be seasonal. A third option is to take all the classroom and pool sessions back home and then go down south to do the open water dives in warm waters. Many people have taken this route. Your instructor back home will give you a referral letter to bring down to an instructor located down south who will oversee your open water dives. This is a good combination of taking ample time back home to practice the skills in the pool plus getting the classroom work out of the way followed by having nice warm water to dive in for the open water dives. One thing to be aware of if considering this option is to make sure that your travel to the tropics for your open water dives is not too delayed after finishing up with your pool sessions at home. If too much time has elapsed, one could easily forget the skills learned in the pool by the time a vacation comes along.

The underwater world has so much to offer and only a small percentage of the worlds population will ever have the privilege to see it in person rather than on television. Become one of these individuals who will have the honor of exploring the oceans by getting certified in scuba diving.
